Indian Summer

November 9, 2006 angie

For as much as I’ve been bitching about the weather lately, I did not deserve the day we had today.  Perfect Indian summer day - sunny and near 70.  We ditched the chores inside the house and headed outside.  I had about 80 crocus and daffodil bulbs to plant in the front of the house.  Elena was into it for about 1 minute . . . and then she discovered the worms.

The poor kid really needs a pet.  Every time I found a worm, she’d lovingly pick it up, name it, and put it in a glass to be her "pet."  The above worm is "Umbrelly" I believe.  She comes by it honestly.  My parents like to tell the story of of me digging for worms and then putting them on the kitchen table.

Well, someone in this house has to cook dinner and I guess it’s probably me.  Fried worms, anyone?
